Masters of Evil VII - History
After years of being a chronic loser, Baron Zemo schemes his latest plot.
He's gathered some of his previous Masters of Evil comrades with plans to kill
the Avengers. However, the omnipotent being Onslaught does the deed first, and
Baron Zemo is left with a team of villains with no cause. Then it hits him -
his Masters can pose as heroes and try to replace the Avengers, thereby gaining
access to all of the Avengers' old weapons and computer files! He gives his
Masters new identities and costumes, and dubs them The Thunderbolts! Now these
"heroes" have gained the respect of the public and are poised to carry out their
most devious plot to date!
However, while the real Masters are playing "hero", there are some new guys in
town calling themselves "The New Masters of Evil", led by the Crimson Cowl, and
of course the Thunderbolts and Masters mix it up! The new Masters were defeated
by the old ones (in Thunderbolts #3), proving this new team is far inferior to
the team that stormed the Avengers mansion years ago. However that changed when
the Crimson Cowl recruited 19 new members to create one of the most deadly
threats that the Masters of Evil have ever done. Using a weather control device
The Masters of Evil caused the entire planet's weather system to become
destructive and cause massive damage and deaths across the globe. But thanks to
the Thunderbolts the Masters of Evil were all defeated except for Man-killer and
Cyclone who both fled the scene. What was even more shocking than the battle was
the true identity of the Crimson Cowl, the Thunderbolts former city liason,
Dallas Riohard (a deception)!.
The "real" Crimson Cowl later returned and
kidnapped Dallas in order to make the Thunderbolts and V-battalion destroy each
other. However, the plan failed and Dallas escaped. The Crimson Cowl decided to
use her father's legacy as a way to control the world for profit and recruited
new and old members into her Masters of Evil. Hawkeye eventually showed up at the
Cowl's front doorstep with his "new" Thunderbolts and Silver Sable and her Wild
pack in tow. It was revealed that the Crimson Cowl was really Justine Hammer,
the daughter of Justin Hammer one of Ironman's oldest foes. Justine had now
decided to launch her plan into action and kill her former team-mates who
betrayed her. The remaining Masters of Evil captured the traitors and Blackheath.
Revealing that Blackheath was the key in activating a bio-toxin that would allow
the Crimson Cowl to hold the door to life or death over various heroes and
villains around the world. Blackheath decided to activate the antidote and
destroyed the toxin in the area. Badly dehydrated, Blackheath used Hydro-man
to put water back in his body, while the rest of the Thunderbolts finally
defeated the Crimson Cowl and her remaining Masters.

under the auspices of a wealthy militant group funded by the terrorist

became the man-hating costumed assassin known as Man-Killer, later serving as a
section chief of the terrorist organization Hydra. She has since operated as a
freelance costumed criminal, battling foes such as Spider-Man, the Cat (later
Tigra), Iron Man and She-Hulk. She was believed dead for a time but has since
re-surfaced, as vicious as ever and somehow embued with natural superhuman
strength. Most recently, she has operated as a member of the latest Masters of
Evil led by the new Crimson Cowl, battling heroes such as the Black Widow and

Cyclone II (true name unrevealed)

Joined Masters of Evil: Thunderbolts #3
Notes : Cyclone is a French costumed criminal whose uniform contains devices that enable
him to generate tremendous winds at will. His costume was invented by the original
Cyclone, a French costumed criminal who fought Spider-Man before being murdered
by the vigilante Scourge. The original Cyclone's costume was duplicated by
unspecified leading figures in French organized crime who hired the current
Cyclone to wear the suit as their enforcer, but he deserted his employers and
went freelance as a criminal costumed mercenary.
Avengers Appearances : None
Flying Tiger (true name unrevealed)
First Appearance: Spider-Woman #40
Joined Masters of Evil: Thunderbolts #3
Notes : A failed football player, the Flying Tiger turned to crime using an armored
costume that grants him enhanced strength, increased durability and the power
of flight. A high-priced freelance assassin, the Flying Tiger has occasionally
fought super-heroes such as the original Spider-Woman, Iron Man and the
Fantastic Four. More recently, he joined the new Crimson Cowl's Masters of Evil,
battling Black Widow and the Thunderbolts. The Flying Tiger's true identity and
origin remain unknown, but in his recent appearances he has claimed to be more
than he appears, even suggesting that he might be one of the World War II
aviators known as the Flying Tigers. This would seem to conflict with earlier
information regarding the Tiger's identity. Whether the current Flying Tiger is
still the original remains to be seen, as does whether the current Flying Tiger
really has any connection to his WWII namesakes.
