Iron Legion
PURPOSE: The Iron Legion was formed by Jim Rhodes, Tony Stark's Friend and confidant, in order to
assist Iron Man against Ultimo.

HISTORY :
When Ultimo rampaged, destroying everything that moved, James Rhodes (War Machine) called together Happy Hogan,
Bethany Cabe, Michael O'brien, Eddie March and Carl Walker. All these friends of Tony Stark had worn the
Iron Man armor at one time or another. Explaining the situation, he proposed that each of them use an old
suit of Iron Man armor to assist him in defeating Ultimo.
After they suited up, they flew out to engage the Giant Robot, blasting Ultimo with every weapon in their arsenal.
Ultimo fell to the ground under the hellish onslaught. Eddie March commented that this had been an Easy Job
when, to his surprise, Ultimo lashed out and grabbed the man clad in Iron Man's earliest grey armor. Ultimo
slammed him into the rocky ground.
Carl Walker, wearing the Stealth armor, attempted to rescue Eddie but was blasted by an energy beam.
War Machine ordered Bethany and Happy to rescue Eddie and Carl and get them clear of the battle. He and
Micharl O'Brien, wearing the Silver Centurion Armor, attacked Ultimo.
Happy, wearing the Mark III armor, yelled for Eddie to eject from the disabled armor, which he did.
Catching him and Eddie, he and Bethany flew them to safety. They quickly rejoined the battle.
The four remaining members of the Iron Legion continued a desperate battle against the Giant Robot until
Happy and Michael collided with each other, causing Happy to dizzily fly around the battlefield. Ultimo
swatted Happy from the sky. Before Ultimo could crush the ex-boxer, he recovered and flew to safety.
War Machine ordered the group to retreat and check on Carl and Eddir. Seeing them hurt, War Machine began
to blame himself for failing to stop the Behemoth from reaching the nearby city of Futura. He then told
Happy to get Carl and Eddie to the hospital. He then ordered michael and Bethany to fly to the city and
order an evacuation. Bethany decided to stay and help War Machine slow Ultimo down, and the two armored heroes
continued they battle with the Giant Robot.
The duo were scarcely having better luck when the real Iron Man arrived on the scene in a brand new suit of armor
(Mark XXII) with improved technology. Iron Man ordered Bethany to get clear while he battled the Robot
one on one. With his new armor, Iron Man managed to plant a device on Ultimo thatcaused a Bolt of Lightning
to hit the robot and shut him down. War Machine and Bethany returned to view the fallen foe.
With the battle over, War Machine punched Iron man, angry that he had let everyone risk their lives and
showed up to "save the day". War Machine then flew away while Tony Stark offered Bethany Cabe a job.
Wether the Iron Legion will reassemble again is left for the future to decide.
