MEMBERSHIP: Knockout, Bloodlust, Mindblast, Whiplash
PURPOSE: Mercenary
AFFILIATIONS: All were members of Superia's Femizons; formerly employed
by the Chameleon; formerly allied with the Scorpion (Mac Gargan) and the
Tarantula (Luis Alvarez); Bloodlust and Whiplash were former member's of
Critical Mass's Band of Baddies
ENEMIES: Black Cat, Captain America, Paladin, Spider-Man
BASE of OPERATIONS: Mobile, formerly Femizonia Island
FIRST APPEARANCE: Amazing Spider-Man I#340 (October, 1990)
HISTORY:
(Marvel Comics Presents#48, 49, 50) Bloodlust and Whiplash were part of
Critical Mass's Band of Baddies that attempted to capture a powerful new female
mutant. They forced the mutant to knock out the two heroes, but the heroes
quickly recovered. The mutant then unleashed her powers, blew up the warehouse
they were in, and defeated all of the Baddies.
(AmzSp340, [341], 342, 343)-Employed by the Chameleon, who was posing as
Dr. Turner, the Femme Fatales attacked the plane of the ambassador of a newly
freed Baltic country. They did this in order to make him question his powers,
so he would return to Turner for further studies. They destroyed the ambassador's
plane, and then caused a major explosion that Spider-Man narrowly escaped (having
already saved the ambassador, of course). Spider-Man, chock full of angst, as
always, decided to have Turner remove his powers, so that he would no longer
risk his life, so he could be with his family. Turner successfully removed his
powers. Turner then hired the Scorpion and the Tarantula and sent them to draw
out the now powerless Spider-Man. Turner and four women quickly moved out of
Turner's lab/apartment to escape Spider-Man's discovery. The powerless Spider-Man,
assisted by the Black Cat, managed to fight off the Scorpion, and tagged him with
a Spider-Tracer. Spidey and the Cat, using his old Tracer tracking device, traced
the Scorpion (and the Femme Fatales, and Turner) to Turner's new base in the
Botanical Gardens. Turner revealed himself to be the Chameleon, and the Black Cat
broke in, hoping to cause a distraction so that Spidey could use the machine to
regain his powers. The Black Cat accomplished her mission, but took quite a
beating in the process. Spidey, back to his old self, rushed in and quickly
fought off all seven of the villains, and destroyed the machine to prevent it
from ever being used again. The Femme Fatales, and everyone else, escaped
capture.
(Cap387+388-BTS, 389-392, [393])-All four of them were present on the
S. S. Superia, and later Femizonia Island, after responding to Superia's
invitation to join her army of Femizons. They participated in the initial
capture of Captain America and the Paladin when the two tried to sneak aboard
the ship.
(Cap411-413,[414])-Knockout was present on AIM's island, Boca Caliente,
for their Weapon Expo. When Captain America was revealed to be posing as
Crossbones to infiltrate the Expo, Knockout was part of the crowd that rushed
to unsuccessfully clobber him. There was a giant crowd of people there, and not
everyone could have been seen, so the other three Femme Fatales could have been
there, too.
(Heroes for Hire#4)-Whiplash teamed up with Killer Shrike, Orka, and
Shockwave in a plot to take over the retired aircraft carrier, the U. S.
Intrepid, planning to use it extort money from the city of New York, or from the
US Government. She and her allies were defeated by Heroes for Hire, and Whiplash
turned into a big wuss when confronted by the savage White Tiger (the evolved
tiger-woman, not the Kung-Fu Hero).
KNOCKOUT is the Brick and the leader, of the group. She was also one of
Superia's Femizons, and appeared to have gone to AIM's Weapon Expo solo. She
possesses superhuman strength (Class 60), enhanced durability and wears an
armored costume. If those four women with Turner with the Femme Fatales, then
she can also take on an apparently caucasian form.
BLOODLUST is the Feral Berserker of the group. She has enhanced human
strength, speed, agility, reflexes, and superhuman senses. She has razor
sharp claws, which could easily rend human flesh. She was part of Critical
Mass's Band of Baddies and Superia's Femizons. If those four women with
Turner were the Femme Fatales, then she can also morph between a normal
appearance and her Bloodlust form.
MINDBLAST has impressive telekinetic powers. She could haul a large
airplane across the runway or project powerful bolts of force. The exposed
braincase may just be a part of her costume. If those four women with Turner
with the Femme Fatales, then she may be able to change to a normal identity
at will.
WHIPLASH wears a padded Kevlar uniform, and uses gauntlets with spring-
loaded omnium cables with adamantium barbs on the tips. She had a different
look when she was with Critical Mass's Band of Baddies. She also was one of
Superia's Femizons, and later joined with another group of criminals for another
mission that met defeat at another band of heroes.
