Prime Minister Vorr of the planet Lallor authorized illegal experiments into atomic weapons. An accident destroyed the continent of Antillar. Five families on the fringe of the irradiated area later produced children with unusual abilities. The children were immediately taken by the government and raised by medical personel. Through years of training, their powers were studied and eventually, the children were made known to the public. Vorr saw these teenagers as potential threats and ordered them exiled from Lallor. Dr. Marden King, brother of the deceased Jungle King, had been monitoring these gifted beings, however, and quickly drew them into his web. King blamed The Legion for the death of his brother and offered the Lallorians sanctuary on Earth if they would defeat the Evil Legionnaires. Eventually, Duplicate Boy and Shrinking Violet discovered and revealed King's plan.
After learning of their betrayal, the 5 teens returned to Lallor and learned that Vorr had finally been ousted for his mis-deeds. They were welcomed home as heroes and protectors of their planet. Funded by the government, they became; The Heroes of Lallor.
