THE ADVENTURE :As Thunderbolt, Singularity and Omega Man finish their investigations into the Doom's Henchmen scenario, they are alerted to a situation that requires their attention. A Mutagenic Research Facility at White Sands, Nevada is under attack by a grotesque creature they were examining there. The heroes quickly respond and arrive in time to see a group of scientists fleeing the area and a monstrous, 12' tall ogre-like creature wreaking havoc. The creature has obviously escaped from a reactor containment building, leaving a gaping hole in its side which is shrouded in steam and smoke.

The heroes challenge the creature but it replies only in guttural sounds and horrendous screams. It clutches a 15' tall tree trunk in its fist that it uses like a club. Moving in, the group try to pull their attacks, trying not to seriously injure the creature. Their attacks prove ineffective while it is able to hurl cars and slabs of concrete at them with terrible force.
Thunderbolt Mind Links with Singularity and suggests that the creature might not have done anything wrong, that it might just be attempting to escape.
Increasing the power of their attacks to the fullest, they are dismayed to see the creature continue his rampage. Thunderbolt tries to Mind Link with the creature which they refer to as Ogre but receives nothing but a sense of rage and pain.

Under the full, combined power of all three heroes, the giant creature finally falls. Thunderbolt and Omega Man keep the creature down while Singularity searches the reactor facility. He notices that when he flies into the steam that his powers decrease - an indication of high radiation in the area.
Omega Man discovers more people in an adjoining building but has them stay there to reduce their chance of exposure. Returning to the reactor room, Thunderbolt and Singularity find an assortment of cell-like cages. Housed within the cages are bestial creations - the result of mutagenic experimentation!
The two heroes free the five creatures. One is a female and a smaller version of Ogre. She has a harsh, guttural voice but can speak limited sentences. She cries, "Not Monster!! None! Kidnapped!" She grabs a nearby weakened creature and flees the facility.

The other three creatures are carried from the reactor. One has bat-like wings and tries to escape but Singularity easily entangles and captures it. Another rushes to the unconscious Ogre and tried to awaken him. The one the group has named Ogress tries to explain that they were all kidnapped off the streets and exposed to illegal experimentation.
Singularity searches the facility and finally finds a woman in a lab coat. He carries her to what he thinks is safety. As they exit, Omega Man notices her radiation badge is fogging and comes to the conclusion that the steam fogging the break in the reactor building is radioactive. Singularity is chagrined to realize that he exposed her to radiation while trying to rescue her.

Three black, unmarked helicopters arrive bringing men with a military aspect but no obvious identification. One is overheard as saying the kindest thing to do would be to put the creatures out of their misery. One helicopter is sent in the direction of the fleeing Scientists.

"FLAGG!!", cries Ogress. "Flagg did this!" The group soon learn that Dr. Charles Flagg was in charge of the facility whose purpose was to study the benign effects of certain wavelengths of radiation. Routine investigations never showed the caged creatures and no such experiments, let alone kidnapping people, was ever authorized.

A Vault helicopter soon arrives on the scene. They have a more professional attitude but insist that the creature be taken into "protective custody" and examined at The Vault. Intent becomes fact as the heroes question the Vault personnel. Before they can really object, all but Ogress and the small one she is protecting are secured and a gas filled helmet placed over their heads.
The third helicopter returns and reports that there is no sign of the missing Dr. Flagg and his associates.

Ogress objects violently and the group is finally forced to stun her and allow the Vault Guardsmen to proceed. Singularity is particularly outraged and demands to know what will happen to them. The Vault Officer explains that the Star Guard has the security access to follow the investigation and that the "monsters" will be placed in protective custody.
Thunderbolt remarks that the only "monsters" in this scenario were Dr. Flagg and his associates.
