PRELUDE : The hero who was once called Golem now inhabits a new body and calls himself Light Sabre. A first disoriented and confused, he soon grows to relish the new sensations and experiences that flesh can enjoy. Dr. Betty Haywood takes Light Sabre in hand and runs him through a battery of tests to help him discover his new super-human abilities and to hone his abilities. She quickly develops an interest in Light Sabre, one that seems to go beyond scientific interest. Light Sabre reciprocates the feelings and soon has the petite scientist accompany him to several restaurants. The usually reserved doctor seems to bloom under the attention and soon asks Light Sabre if he likes Home Cooking.
Light Sabre also contacts Laura Brown, the Star Guard's liason to the NSA and informs her of his change in identity. She agrees to use his brain wave pattern as proof of identity and says that she will transfer his security clearance to the new identity.

Sharon Robbins (aka Thunderbolt) is trying to establish a means to provide the FBI with a means to communicate with Enhanced Beings so they can quickly report on threats to the infra-structure of the United States.
Dr. Maxwell Mercury (aka Adept) begins the tedious paperwork necessary to get a higher security clearance so he can participate in several classified projects that interest him.
Singularity arrives back in the solar system after his vacation on Charana's planet. He has grown to care greatly for the alien beauty but is disturbed over Charana's affiliation and near worship of the Kree. He arrives at the Star Base and is pleased to see that the repairs have been finished. He also finds himself missing Samantha's presence. He has only begun to look around when an alarm sounds, one broadcast to all Star Guard members. It is 7:15 p.m.

THE ADVENTURE : The communicators identify the caller as Laura Brown. Thunderbolt, Singularity and Light Sabre respond. Seconds later, Adept also responds. He has set his Associate's Communicator to monitor Star Guard calls.
Laura Brown apologizes for bothering the group but says that she has a request from the Phoenix Police for assistance. There has been a major disturbance at a Phoenix nightclub that involves enhanced beings. Several Police cruisers have been dispatched to the scene but communications with them have been cut off. There are reports of a police cruiser being thrown a city block.
The group leaps into action and they quickly agree to rendezvous over the scene. The location of the disturbance is a nightclub known as the "Amazon Club".

Adept and Thunderbolt arrive first on the scene and quickly spy what seem to be two bodies lying in the middle of an intersection. Adept teleports to the bodies and examines them. They seem to be mannikins. Adept quickly comms that this is a ruse and to prepare for an ambush.
Thunderbolt lands nearby and examines the mannikins. A shiver runs down her spine as she notes the authenticity of the equipment, uniform and guns on the still figures. Even as she watches, the figures seem to shimmer slightly and become more human appearing. Her magical training alerts her to the possibility that these might be real policemen under the effects of a spell. She tells Adept of her theory and asks him to take them to a nearby hospital for help.
Adept studies the figures and then picks them up and teleports away.

Turning her attention to the Nightclub, Thunderbolt sees 4-5 figures milling about outside the entrance. She also sees what appear to be two more bodies lying nearby. Moving toward the entrance, she sees two more policemen. These appear to be unconscious.
Light Sabre and Singularity arrive on the scene. Light Sabre spies a figure in the shadows at the rear of the building and uses his powers to illuminate the area. The figure does not move. Singularity moves in closer and sees that the figure appears to be dressed as a policeman but made out of salt!
Singularity arrives and announces, "Never Fear, I am Here!" His joke goes unnoticed as the other three heroes grimly survey the situation. He studies Light Sabre and wonders who this new guy is. He decides to get the bystanders out of the area but the girl reacts by trying to seduce him and the guy tries to pick a fight with him. When he grabs a girl, she lets out a loud scream and shouts, "Meggan!! Trouble!!"

A piercing female voice shouts, "Who dares interfere with my Pleasure?!" Thunderbolt, standing in the doorway of the Nightclub, is narrowly missed by a bolt of pink lightning. Shouts of, "It's a Bust!" and screams erupt from the crowded dance floor and the spectators quickly flee behind booths and bathrooms. Left standing in the middle of the floor is a dark tressed woman in a revealing white and black costume. "Do you dare interfere with Hecate's party too?", she asks with sinister overtones.
      Thunderbolt replies, "Stop Hurting People!"
Hecate answers, "Oh. Well, since you put it that way." and responds with a bolt of pink lightning that smashes into Thunderbolt and sends her crashing out the door and across the street.

Singularity sees a statuesque red and white costumed female exit the doorway. He targets her with a gravity entangle but to his amazement, it seems to go right through her. The figure shakes her blonde hair and says in a lazy voice, "That wasn't nice! You can't touch Mist, Silly Boy!"
Light Sabre has decided to enter the back way and finds a figure strung up in a net, struggling to get free. The man looks like a bouncer. He decides that the net is probably safer than out on the street. He lands by the back door.
Thunderbolt recovers her balance and faces Mist from across the street. The Mystic Heroine sends a deafening Thunderclap at the villainess but Mist only shakes her head in annoyance.
Adept teleports into the Nightclub and faces the one called Hecate. There are too many people on the edges of the room for him to tell who else might be a threat. Hecate makes an offhand gesture and a huge hand appears and slaps Adept with crushing force. He is thrown outside and across the street. A mocking voice cries, "Can't a Girl have Any Fun?!"

Singularity targets Mist with another entangle, this one phase shifted so that it can affect desolidified beings but misses. Mist merely stands with her hands on her hip, mocking the hero and looking bemused.
Light Sabre runs into the dance area from the back and takes in the figure of Hecate facing away from him. Before he can act, however, he sees a buxom woman dressed in green who is pointing a strange looking gun at him. "I am The Huntress,", she states. "You are my Prey!" He whirls but she fires her weapon with deadly accuracy and he is thrown back into a corner table. The projectile strikes a nerve and he is stunned.
Realizing that Mist may be phased even though there is no visual evidence to support her theory, Thunderbolt uses her mystic powers to turn gaseous! She sends a torrent of phased energy at her opponent. Mist is surprised to be affected by the attack but tries to bluff and pretend not to be affected. She shouts, "That wasn't very Nice! Can you Take It as well as Give It?!" Vapors swirl from her fingertips and snake their way across the street. The phased energy assaults Thunderbolt. Heroine and Villainess each stagger slightly.
Adept uses his clairsentience to teleport into the Nightclub and onto the dance floor before Hecate. Hecate is taken aback but smiles and says, "My... This is going to be interesting!" She makes a grabbing gesture at Adept and mutters, "By the Dark Bands of Daggabod!" Adept is entangled by dark bands of force!
A winged female figure hurtles out of the crowd, landing next to the downed Light Sabre. She places a foot on his buttock and her prehensile toes clench tight! She tosses him across the dance floor with contemptuous ease. It is obvious that she does this casually and is not really trying to hurt him.

Singularity again phases his gravity bonds and manages to hit Mist! She is wrapped tightly in the gravity bonds and mutters, "Oh Crap! This Sucks!" Singularity quips, "Ah... this one doesn't suck, it just holds!"
Mist glares at Singularity and strains at the bonds. Jets of steam erupt from the entangle and it shatters. Mist steps free.
Light Sabre rises to his feet just in time be to knocked down again by the winged girl who strikes him as she flies by. "Don't mess with Shryke!", she cries as her wings beat powerfully in the cramped room to prevent her from crashing into a wall.
Thunderbolt moves across the street to face Mist! She is still in her gaseous form and enhances her strength with magic. She strikes at Mist but misses. Mist seems miffed. She has rarely faced opponents that could actually hurt her!
Adept teleports out of the entangle and appears centered between Hecate, Shryke and Huntress. "Tricky, Tricky!", mutters Hecate in appreciation. She quickly weaves a spell and casts it on Adept. He feels a tingling sensation but otherwise seems unaffected.
Adept braces himself to attack all three females with an area effect attack. Huntress scans the Eternal with her hand gun and fires! The razor sharp flechette strikes Adept in th side and bites deep! He clutches his side and cries, "Not Again!" as his hand comes away bloody.
Bracing himself against the pain, Adept mutters, "How's this for Tricky?" He uses his teleport power to strike all three simultaneously!

Singularity watches Mist closely but can not tell whether she is phased or not. He again phases his mutant powers and wraps her in bonds of gravity. Mist appears peeved but again strains at the bonds and jets of high pressure vapor erupt from the entangle. With an angry cry, she shatters the bonds.
Light Sabre hits Shryke with a beam of solid light that has the kick of a mule on steroids, trying to knock her into Hecate. Stryke is staggered but her prehensile feet clutch at the floor, arresting her movement.
Thunderbolt decides to continue fighting fire with fire or phasing with her gaseous form powers. Calling upon her mystic might, she strikes Mist and has the pleasure of knocking the blonde villainess off her feet. Mist lands with a crash and glares at Thunderbolt with outraged indignation.
Huntress rises to her feet and faces Adept. "This was just a Party, you Fool!" she cries. She fires her weapon and the Eternal is staggered by a piercing pain in his arm. Crimson Blood quickly stains his arm. Adept responds with a stunning flurry of translocated blows and grates, "That's the last free shot you get on me!"

Singularity again wraps Mist in bonds of gravity. Mist seems outraged by the attack and cries in exasperation, "I'm Mist! You can't do that!!"
Sigularity replies, "You'd be surprised what Gravity can do!!"
Light Sabre strikes Shryke with a beam of solid light and knocks her off her feet. Hecate casts a spell at him and creates a pair of ebony hands that try to grab his head. The ebony hands miss and Hecate cries, "Up Yours, Light Man!"
"That's Light SABRE!", cries the man who was once Golem.
Mist again breaks free of Singularity's entangle but Thunderbolt is waiting for her and punches the blonde in the face! Mist groans in pain and frustration and sinks into the ground, disappearing from sight!
Feeling weakened by blood loss, Adept summons all his strength and lashes out at Huntress. The agile villainess evades the blow, moving about with the grace of a panther.

Feeling dazed by his injuries, Adept cries, "Let's take this outside!" and teleports straight up, outside the Nightclub. He is staggered by a wave of weakness and appears far short of where he intended. He quickly realizes that this must be the result of Hecate's previous spell!
With Mist gone, Singularity flies into the Nightclub and lands on the dance floor. Hecate cries, "One Wuss down! Let's take out Light Boy!" Singularity uses his mutant powers to set up a field of gravity about himself.
Light Sabre tries a new power he has experimented with. He creates a spherical bubble of light energy and tries to englobe Hecate with it. She manages to evade the globe and quickly weaves a spell in return. Inky Darkness coalesces around Light Sabre
Thunderbolt moves into the Nightclub, still in her gaseous form. She sends tendrils of phased energy at Hecate but misses.

Singularity unleashes a Gravity Blast at Huntress but misses. The agile villainess does a tuck and roll and comes up with her pistol ready. Pain lances Singularity's shoulder as a flechette bites deep. Blood stains the tear in his costume.
Light Sabre creates an arc of solid laser light that bites into the dark bands surrounding him. The bands shatter and he is free.
Hecate gestures at Thunderbolt and black tendrils swirl about her, wrapping tightly about her legs and then arms. Thunderbolt tries to shrug off the delicate looking tendrils but they are harder than steel.
Adept concludes that none of the villains are going to follow him outside. He clenches his teeth against the pain of his wounds and teleports back into the Night Club, trying to appear behind where he last saw Huntress.
Shryke hurtles toward the door, folding her wings tightly to her body, and exits the Night Club.

Huntress drops to one knee and fires on Singularity! A flechette buries itself deep in his shoulder. The mutant hero staggers backward, clutching his bloody shoulder.
Light Sabre concentrates and creates a globe of light energy around Hecate that swiftly contracts and holds her tight. She snarls in anger, mutters a quick invocation and the light energy fades away.
Thunderbolt summons lightning and the dark tendrils shatter into wisps of smoke. She then takes on a defensive position.
Adept grabs Huntress from behind and squeezes. She snarls in anger as the Eternal puts on the pressure.
Shryke flies back into the Night Club and hits Adept a glancing blow in passing. Adept is unmoved and says, "I felt that."

Huntress teleports out of Adept's grasp. Singularity targets her with a Gravity Punch. Huntress grimaces in pain but maintains her balance.
Light Sabre sends a bolt of solid light at Hecate and staggers the dark sorceress.
Thunderbolt again takes on her gaseous form, her body lit by small flashes of lightning. She sends wisps of phased energy at Stryke but misses.
Shryke whirls and again streaks at Adept, striking him in passing. Ignoring Shryke, Adept targets Huntress and uses his powers to teleport a dozen light blows at the deadly villainess.

The battle continues with Adept and Singularity fighting on despite their wounds. Hecate raises her arms and calls out an invocation! A mass of spider-web like strands explode in the area between Thunderbolt and Adept, wrapping them tightly in its grasp.
Light Sabre is knocked through a wall and on the street outside where Mist attacks him from the rooftop. Shryke also takes the battle outside where she takes one last swipe at Light Sabre before flying down a street and fleeing.
Adept and Singularity double team Huntress and knock her unconscious. Adept teleports to her location and makes sure she stays down.

Hecate is knocked back into the bar area and crashes into a dozen liquor bottles. Flames erupt with a loud whoosh and that area of the Night Club is engulfed in flames and smoke! Hecate disappears from sight as the huddled crowd screams and starts to panic.
Thunderbolt summons a shower of rain but it has little effect on the alcohol fed flames. Light Sabre uses his knowledge of fire-fighting techniques to englobe the fire with an air tight bubble of energy that cuts off its oxygen.
Mist sees Huntress down and Shryke fleeing and fades into the roof top and out of sight. Adept wrests Huntress's pistol from her unconscious grip and tosses it aside. Thunderbolt and Light Sabre try to control the crowd's panic and lead them to safety.

After the crowd has been evacuated and the fire department and police are on the scene, Adept asks to be introduced to Light Sabre. He is surprised to learn that Light Sabre is the metallic hero he once knew as Golem. Light Sabre asks that his identity change remain classified. Vault is called to take Huntress into custody. Adept and Singularity refuse medical assistance and leave to get some rest, relying on their super-human physiology to heal their wounds.
