PRELUDE :Returning to the Sol System after their long journey to the distant Star System where they freed Solarr, the group approach their star base and radio ahead. The star base again misidentifies them and has a problem with Solarr being still alive. The scientists shut off the defense systems and the group enter the star base. Solarr is still weakened and expresses a desire to return to Earth at once.
When Solarr leaves, Thunderbolt, Singularity and Golem invite Omega Man into the base. They rest after their long journey and go over the current EBTNs. There is still scant information on Dr. Flagg and his mutagenic victims.
Singularity considers taking a small vacation to visit Char on her homeworld but is unwilling to leave before the situation with Ogre and Ogress is resolved. He also finds himself again attracted to Samantha who has crawled into an access chamber to make some repairs and is showing a considerable amount of leg.
The scientists are hard at work and have half the consoles town apart and the other half jury-rigged. They ask Thunderbolt and Golem to procure several component parts for them, parts that are very expensive and hard to find.

THE ADVENTURE : Singularity decides to look up his old archeology professor; Dr. Stevenson of the University of Arizona. He learns that the professor is on a dig in Argentina. Singularity decides to visit the Professor and flies to South America where he contacts the Professor by radio. The Professor knows that Singularity is the mutant he once knew as Ralph Cramdon.
Singularity manages to contact the Professor and gets directions to the site. The Professor is exploring a series of tunnels that stretch for miles under Argentina. Prof. Stevenson believes that the caves are 10's of thousands of years old and are Aztec in origin. He is excited with a discovery that he says will overturn modern theory about the origin of man.
Prof. Stevenson shows Singularity a small, unexceptional looking piece of quartz about the size of his thumb. "Touch it.", directs The Professor. Ralph does so and his vision immediately improves! The dank and dark tunnel now appears to be well-lit and everything stands out in sharp detail.
"I call it the Aztec Eye.", states Professor Stevenson. Ralph starts to ask several questions but is interrupted by a rumbling that shakes the ground. The tunnel where he is is located is several hundred yards underground and the entrance is at least a mile away. From the Professor's radio comes shouts and screams. It seems that several diabolic creatures are attacking the crew on the ground and they seem to be searching for Professor Stevenson.

Singularity tells his friend to stay where he is and starts running up the tunnels. The tunnels are too cramped for him to use his flight. He monitors the battle above ground with his radio as more and more desperate pleas for help come in. As he runs, he uses his star-comm to request aid from any available members of the Star Guard.
Thunderbolt, Omega Man and Golem, still at the star base, respond and rush to aid their friend.

Singularity climbs the last tunnel out into daylight and sees three figures he dreads see. Solarra, Kronal and Shaitan stand over cowering workers, making them radio pleas for help to the professor.
Kronal spots Singularity and shouts, "Hot Damn! We gonna see some Whup Ass!!"
"Come now brothers and sister,", responds Singularity. "Is this any way to be acting?"

Solarra seems surprised to see Singularity and cries, "Leave! This does not concern you!"
Singularity responds, "Ahhh... but you see, it does," He knows he is vastly out-gunned and tries to keep the power augmented beings talking.
"Wrong Choice, Traitor!:, shouts Shaitan and sends a dazzling bolt of anti- matter energy at the mutant hero. Singularity tries to reflect the attack but fails and is hit by the full force of the blast which staggers him.
Fortunately, the conversation has given the other heroes time to arrive on the scene. Omega Man flies in closer and surveys the situation. He has not met these foes before and is wary of their energy shrouded forms.

Summoning all his power, Singularity hits Shaitan with a powerful gravity punch that staggers the anti-matter foe. "Little Brother has Learned!", cries Solarra approvingly. Solarra hits him with a glancing blow from a plasma blast.
Shaitan targets the advancing Golem and staggers the metal hero.
Thunderbolt flies into the battlefield as the workers scramble for safety. Golem lands and races toward Kronal. Shaitan blasts the metal hero, knocking him off his feet. Kronal, seeing Thunderbolt coming toward him, shouts, "Solarra! Take care of the Chick!!" Kronal advances on Omega Man and suddenly leaps at him!

Seeing Kronal's attack, Singularity cries, "It wouldn't be a good idea to touch him!" To his amazement, Kronal strikes Omega Man a glancing blow but there is no reaction from his anti-matter damage field!
Singularity recovers his balance and puts up a gravity field to reflect attacks. Solarra studies him for a moment and cries, "Tricky!". She changes her tactics and hits him with an explosive burst.
Thunderbolt sends a burst of electrical energy at Solarra but misses.

"I've learned a few tricks, I must admit!", cries Singularity as he uses his gravity telekinesis to grab Solarra and throw her into Shaitan. He expects their damage fields to interact as they did in the last battle. However, while his tactic knocks Solarra off balance and shakes Shaitan, there is no reaction from their energy fields! Could it be? Have they learned better control over their powers or have they lost some of their power?
Thunderbolt lands and races toward Kronal. Kronal again lashes out at Omega Man but misses. Omega Man analyzes these powerful beings and concludes that their powers are probably Plasma Based and are probably resistant to his main attack.
Omega Man hits Kronal with a Bio-Disruptor attack that seems to tear through the hulking Kronal's defenses.
Golem tries to dodge an attack from Shaitan but is still hit and knocked from his feet. Shaitan cries, "All we wanted was the Gem! Now it's your Ass!!" He lashes out at Singularity, knocking him from the sky.

Singularity crashes to the ground, stunned.
Golem charges across the battlefield where Solarra and Shaitan stand together. Hurtling like a locomotive, he tries to strike both but misses.
Thunderbolt summons all her power and sends a streak of chain lightning that catches both Shaitan and Solarra. Both are staggered by the blast.
Solarra recovers and cries, "You are beginning to annoy me, Metal Man!" She targets him with a plasma blast that rattles his nonexistent teeth.
Omega Man again hits Kronal with his Bio-Disruptor and Kronal falls!

Singularity recovers and sees that Kronal is down. He wraps the hulking villain in specialized gravity field designed to keep him unconscious.
With Kronal down, the heroes are able to double team Shaitan and Solarra. Shaitan is the next to fall and Solarra makes an attempt to flee. She tries to turn desolid but Singularity is able to adjust an energy field that ensnares her.
Thunderbolt turns gaseous and surrounds Shaitan, keeping him unconscious. Now outnumbered three to one, Solarra falls.

The Argentine government is contacted and asked whether they have the facilities to secure criminals as powerful as the Star Foes. The response leaves something to be desired as the government official demands to know why the group is in Argentina without authorization. When Singularity tries to explain that he was visiting a friend, it comes out that he entered the country without a passport.
An armored transport arrives and Argentine soldiers quickly take control of the area. They come equipped with massive chains, manacles and leg irons. They treat the Star Guard with anger and order them to leave immediately. When Singularity asks to check on Professor Stevenson's well being, he is denied. There has been no sign of Singularity's friend since the battle began.
Reluctantly, the Star Guard leaves Argentine airspace. Singularity tries to contact Professor Stevenson but to no avail, There is no sign of him or the Aztec Eye.
