Greetings! The Hero Game System is part of a multi-genre package that allows you to use the same rules in various genres including Super-Heroic, Space, Martial Arts, Fantasy and more. Champions is the name of the Super-Hero Genre. The Hero game system is very rich in detail and flavor. The character creation process can be daunting to newbies but the richness in detail and ability to personalize your character is unmatched. The Hero Game System is currently in its 5th Edition and going strong!



Champions is my favorite game system but the Marvel Universe, peopled with such characters as Spider-Man, The Hulk, Dr. Doom and The X-Men, is my favorite "Universe". Twenty years or so ago I decided to merge the two into what I call Champions in the Marvel Universe.



I am the primary GM for our group but once in awhile, I take a break and play my own character in the campaign. I have GMed at some of the local conventions and the players usually are delighted to play their favorite Avenger or X-Man. In our campaign, we interact with characters in the Marvel Universe but create our own characters. The current campaign is called Star Guard 2004 and is a space based group of heroes on a par with The Avengers or The Justice League. This campaign is the fourth major campaign we have played during the last two decades.



The Star Guard 2004 campaign is currently fighting off incursions from the Skrull and Kree as well as the Shi'ar because of the wormhole near our sun that connects the Skrull and Kree galaxies. Their asteroid base has been recently destroyed by members of the Imperial Guard but they have rebuilt it and stand ready to defend Earth from threats both Alien and Domestic.

We use character stats in Word document form, many of which are available for your perusal. We also make heavy use of a battle-map and miniatures for our games. Many of our group have commissioned artists to draw their characters. After searching in vain for lead miniatures, I finally decided to use card-board miniatures. These are basically the character's pictures scaled down, mounted on a card-board backing and placed on stands. To that end, I have provided several libraries containing hundreds of character illustrations that can be scaled down and printed out.
