The Dragon's B5 Wars Gaming Page!
Babylon 5 is one of the greatest Science Fiction sagas ever to hit television
and arguably the best. It is a "saga" with a 5 year story arc not a series
of episodes strung together that are lacking in continuity and whose timeline
and history change every time a new episode or series is spun off.
B5 Wars is a Space Combat Simulation, Pen and Paper game based on the award
winning series. It is similar to SFB (Star Fleet Battles) but the rules are
less cumbersome and it is faster playing. Our group used to play SFB but the
endless errata and argument over the rules made the game untenable.
After being introduced to the B5 Wars game system, we quickly found that
the fans of the game were legion and industrious. THey were busily making
SCSs (Ship Control Sheets) for various other universes such as Star Trek,
Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Farscape and Andromeda just to name a few.
We generally prefer to play the Star Trek Universe ships and found that a
work-aholic named Tyrel was busy converting most ships seen in the many
episodes into B5 Wars SCSs. (See the excellent PLANETSIDE web link.)
As a side note, we have in the past played a "Play By E-Mail Game" called
VGA Planets 3 that allowed you to play ships from the Star Trek Universe vs.
ships from Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica. Other games like Master of
Orion had limited ability in this area if you applied mods to the game. There
are also groups out there who are producing quality CGI movies of battles
between Star Trek ships and Babylon 5 ships.
This web page will concentrate on providing support for the Star Trek
ships conversions for B5 Wars as well as various other gaming aids.
05/05/2003 - Designed Opening Page and started looking at what SCSs could be
included in the downloads page. Suggestions welcome!
